TELEPHONE SERVICES

While the Honduran government was launching its "Telefonía para Todos, Modernidad para Honduras" (Telephone Service for all, modernity for Honduras), Multidata decided to actively participate on said program, becoming an authorized Sub-operator by CONATEL resolution number RC-SO-027/04; participating in this market principally by paying attention to the needs of our Corporate Clients.

Multidata’s experience tending to corporate clients and the sturdiness of its 100% digital network has allowed the fast implementation of the telephone services, for which was necessary the incorporation of a Telephone Service Switch and the continuous use of their actual data networks.

All the previous, united with a great flexibility and the capacity to invest, has allowed Multidata, to become the first sub-operator to start service and offer a portfolio of products that have come to innovate the telecommunications market in Honduras.

The products that we are currently offering are:

  • E1 DID

  • E1 DTC

  • CENTREX

  • IPCORP

  • IPTEL

These products have been designed to take over the Corporate Telephone Market, focusing our solutions to each type of company and tailored the clients’ particular needs.

E1 DID – DOD Description

The DID (Direct-Inward-Dialing) services and the DOD (Direct-Outward-Dialing) are both implemented using E1 PRI circuits connected to a private telephone central PBX. This connection is done through Multidata’s Data Networks.

The DID service allows the PBX, through E1 PRI ports, to connect to the public telephone networks and also allowing the internal extensions to receive incoming calls in a direct way, without having to go through an answering machine or operator.

The DOD service allows the PBX’s extensions to make calls outward to the public telephone network without having to go through an operator.

Multidata’s Telephone Central allows the implementation of both mentioned telephone services under the following functional design:

  • The customers’ PBX will connect through an E1 circuit to a port in Multidata’s Telephone Central allowing the use of 30 digital trunk lines for incoming and outgoing calls. For the outgoing calls (DOD) the Central will allow the clients PBX, the sending of outgoing calls to Multidata’s telephone central, so that it can create the interconnections with the public telephone network.

  • For the DID service, a numerical range is assigned to the clients PBX which is connected to Multidata’s central. The Central will then distribute all the calls within that range to the client’s PBX. The PBX must be configured to receive and process the calls in the way the customer requires. This last part is totally the client’s responsibility depending on which functionalities he wishes to configure and this functions will be limited by the capacity of the PBX.

  • The client may assign groups of numbers for different services, for example: general operator, call center, sales department, etc. (This will depend on the client’s PBX)

  • Allows the client to assign Direct Numbers to executives, special numbers that are independent of an operator. This also allows the id of the user calling or the number ID.

This is a special product for the companies that have in a single building or site a large concentration of employees, requiring the service of an operator, telephone lines via extensions and direct number assignment for executives.

What this service does is convert a Digital E1 PRI cannel, connected to our Central, so that independent analago telephone services can be delivered.

E1 DTC Service Description

The client access network up to Multidata’s Central is completely digital, and doesn’t allow any normal telephone terminal connections, (telephone devices), considering this, Multidata has developed the DTC service to allow clients that have a copper network and wish to use normal telephone terminals, without a PBX, to have this service.

This service is for companies that more than just require the service for their own use, have a building or an extended area with various clients, which are not necessarily paying for their service to the building owner. For example: Industrial Parks, Malls, Hotel Zones.

Centrex Service Description

The CENTREX service is specially designed for companies that do not have a PBX, and wish to communicate by dialing extension numbers between their offices.

What this service does is to create a virtual PBX in our Central, this is what makes it possible for the client to not own a PBX and still have access to this service; through this service the client may have:

  • A pilot number that may or may not be answered by an operator and the operator be the one to connect the calls to the extensions.

  • Assign an external number to an extension, similar to the DID and DOD services, this being because any extension can call or be called from outside the CENTREX group.

  • The major advantage for the client is that they DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN THE SAME PHYSICAL LOCATION. This means that the extensions may be located in different sites where Multidata has coverage, and have the possibility to always communicate just by dialing an extension number.

  • The advantage of coverage allows one single operator to distribute the calla to other locations or agencies that are not physically in the same building as the operator.

  • Given that the telephone numbers public or prívate, are mainly transported by data networks or networks connected to the internet, it is a requisite that the sites to be communicated by this service, are connected to Multidata’s Data or Internet networks.

  • All the calls inside the CENTREX group have a special tariff, and the monthly charges are made considering the use of public telephone lines and are framed inside the telephone billing plan that Multidata provides.

 ·          Any call can be transferred between extensions (located physically in different sites), and have varied functions that only a PBX in the same site would provide.

IPCORP Service Description

Multidata by installing a Telephone Central that manages IP protocol, also provides prívate IP telephone service, under the name of IPCORP.

IPCORP allows the client as many prívate lines as he wishes in any part of the country, once these sites have either Data service connection or Internet connection with Multidata.

The IPCORP service is designed so that the bandwidths consumed by the telephone lines, are not limited by other services, but also that the use of this telephone lines will not interfere with the other services data or internet that the client has already installed.

The client may also use conventional analog telephones if he so chooses, to which Multidata will supply a converter (lan/tel) or he may use any IP telephone. In case of using an IP phone, this must be provided by the client.

It is important to mention that the client pays the installation cost, when the client wishes to use an analog phone and as recurrent payments, a fixed quota monthly for the use of a private line or extension, with this monthly quota the client may dial all the calls they want between any of the extensions, without any extra charge by minute or traffic.

IPTEL Service Description

Multidata by installing a Telephone Central that manages IP protocol, also provides public IP telephone service, under the name of IPTEL.

IPTEL allows the client as many public lines as he wishes in any part of the country, once these sites have either Data service connection or Internet connection with Multidata.

The IPTEL service is designed so that the bandwidths consumed by the telephone lines, are not limited by other services, but also that the use of this telephone lines will not interfere with the other services data or internet that the client has already installed.

The client may also use conventional analog telephones if he so chooses, to which Multidata will supply a converter (lan/tel) or he may use any IP telephone. In case of using an IP phone, this must be provided by the client.

Telephone Products Combined:

Multidata allows the combination of its telephone services per request of the client. These combinations can be very diverse, but must be discussed case by case, since from one product to another, it is not always that all the functionalities can be exported; for example:

a) DID to DID Communications:
In this case the company must have more than one DID, even if they are inside the same city, for the communications between two DID’s have preferred charge.

b) DID to IPTEL Combination:
It is possible to communicate public telephone numbers between DID and the IPTELs. The advantage of this combination is that the calls between these services are sustained with preferred charges.

c) IPTEL and IPCORP Combination:
We have the capacity to combine the advantages of the prívate ip telephone service (IPCORP) with the public telephone service (IPTEL), so if our client, so wishes, we can create a private extension group for their internal communications; and this group may have a certain number of public numbers for their external communications. This is the same as having a private telephone central with public telephone line connections.

It is our intention to tend to our clients’ telephone communication needs in the best possible way, if our clients have special requirements, we have the capacity to analyze these requirements and offer the best products available.
